Some got it, some really don’t but they still try to make you think they do.

There are many people in our world that make you think they have a gazzillion dollars, yet don’t, or are so far in debt that ya’ll think, shit I got it made.

There are as well that do, show it, and use it for the benefit of their clients, supporters and as well as themselves. Realizing that those same clients and supporters are why they have any real money at all.

Of course there are the Scrooges that are too abundant . Like the dude that runs this complex I reside in, oh he’s got money, the fix it guy for the places in Twin, rides in a near new Ford 3/4 ton , yet the guy here in Burley is rolling in a rather worn out van.

Of course there is Charley, who I think could walk on water, that makes sure his people are taken care of. Comparison? Charley looked at the carpet in my new place over there, says I’ll put in new carpet. Guy here in Burley, toilet needs fixed, one guy tried, did a half ass’d job. But hey if he don’t mind paying a big water bill on the place, who am I to argue.

Same goes for both large to medium to small toew fleets.

Mine is not one of the largest by any means, with trucks in Boise, Rigby, here in Burley as well as the greater Gooding/Hazzard County area. Mainly Hazzard. Started in 1978 , continues to do well, in fact of all levels of business we haven’t done all that bad, are not mortgaged up to our door handles, all equipment paid, legal and constantly going. Granted our rigs are not beauty queens, are 20 years to 30 years old, but damn it, on a snow covered road in Idaho at 2:30 in the morning, anyone of them will get the job done.

One accident, only one damage claim, in those 34 years of running, and one of the oldest single original owner/owned fleets in the Mountain West.  Added to that the 12 in Utah and the 6 in Wyoming, Highway Hooker Toewing, Dixie Towing, SpeedWrench Towing and RoadWolf Towing and Truck Service of Wyoming, are still owned by me, created and started by me and still can hold our own against any tow fleet, in Idaho.

With the upcoming eventual merge of Dixie Towing of Burley and Hazzard Idaho and A1 Towing of Twin Falls the coverage and operational capabilities are getting better.

What about the rest of similar fleets?

In Pocatello, there is Denny’s Wrecker Service , Stan's Towing , Custom Towing. In Idaho Falls Idaho Sunkiss and Lyndsy’s Towing, Morgan's Towing . Boise, B&W Wrecker Service, Naylor's Towing and TNT Towing. The rest are merged or absorbed by larger fleets.

I read with astonishment the articles in FootNotes of how bad our industry has gotten, tow companies going under and all, and I get teased a criticized about my old trucks. Sure some do need a beauty and mechanical make over. My Little service truck Sylver Myst, needs a new engine, and paint. LexiBelle my staple, needs a floor board, left side fuel tank, fuel lines and body & paint. But they’re all paid for, still can run calls, which is why I can charge less, than those up to their rumps in debt.

My friend and counterpart Charley has been buying rigs up the kazoo, true he is a good business man, but the debt he’s attaining at a rapid pace is almost equal to what he is making.

Any mile, enuff of that but There are those that have real money, and those that just front , but are broke.

Okay then as I close, every year, our company along with the Knytes-of-Anarchy(aka-Hazzard County Knytes) starts organizing female model talent for the following years calendar. Meaning right now gathering hot hiney’s for the 2014 calendar. Mainly so we can start showing winter scenes. We take 24 of the most luscious home grown built bikes, rat rods and trucks and toew trucks,(tow here is mis spelled on purpose) Put these rigs with some of the best female eye candy, and shoot the best visually hot Hazzard County style calendar and video . Sales of the calendar goes to the charity that our buddy John (Bo-Duke) chairs, the Children’s Miracle Network. For kids who need it for medical care, regardless of their families ability to pay. Two years ago, we raised $24,000.00 that went to the Shriners Hospital in Utah, lets see if we can do the same here, for the kids of Bo'.
